How are you today, how are you REALLY doing? Are you thirsty bro? The type of thirst I am talking about isn’t about a physical thirst, like something we can go to the faucet and get a drink of water and that’s that, but a deeper type of thirst inside of ourselves that compels us to look for exterior things to quench that thirst or fill that void inside of us.

How many of us today fill that void with drugs, alcohol, porn, even social media like Facebook, YouTube or Twitter! Sometimes when we see someone constantly posting things it’s pretty easy to judge and say that they’re thirsty for attention but we’re ALL going somewhere to get our cups filled, we just may go to different places to do it.

These things won’t fill you up for long and from personal experience you’ll just keep coming back over and over again not getting filled up! I used to want validation from others so bad and didn’t want them to know just how ugly and weak I felt on the inside. I tried to drink down my pain and that certainly didn’t fix anything!

I finally realized what living waters meant when I lost everything, I had all that I really needed inside of me the whole time. Jesus. When he said he was living water, it didn’t mean that my thirst would go away but that I had what I needed inside of me and didn’t need to go looking for validation from others or alcohol to drink away the pain. I could look inside to my heavenly father to gather the strength I need to push on. I could now love myself for who I am. I care less today about what others think of me as a result. 😀

John 4:14

but whoever drinks of the water that I will give him shall never thirst; but the water that I will give him will become in him a well of water springing up to eternal life.

John 7:38

He who believes in Me, as the Scripture said, ‘From his innermost being will flow rivers of living water.’

Revelation 22:17

The Spirit and the bride say, “Come ” And let the one who hears say, “Come ” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
